Physical Education

About Our Physical Education Curriculum

It is the intent of the curriculum to:

  • develop fundamental movements as a foundation to access life-long sport and be active
  • develop co-operation and team building through active sport and adventurous activities
  • develop personal awareness of physical health as part of personal well being

PE will be taught weekly to allow for the maximum impact of keeping children fit and healthy. Building key skills of team games, ball skills and fitness will underpin the curriculum. Swimming will be offered all children in KS2. In addition, it will be encouraged that children participate regularly in walking the mile during a quick break in the afternoon. Additionally, sport clubs will be offered during lunchtime and after school.

We use Real PE to support our delivery of PE lessons with a significant focus also placed on Sports Leadership.
