At The Colman Schools, we have 10 classes.

We continually look for ways that reading is at the heart of everything we do as a school and so we chose to name our classes after authors.

Mrs Burgoyne and Miss Bower – Mayhew Class (Reception)
Miss Clasper – Bight Class (Year 1)
Mr Cook – Jeffers Class (Year 2)
Miss Baker – Deacon Class (Year 2)
Miss Bartholomew – Tucker Class (Year 3)
Mrs Bartosiewicz – Farook Class (Year 4)
Mr Baxter and Mr Frazer- Gold Class (Year 4/5)
Miss Whiting – Rundell Class (Year 5)
Mr Burdett – Syed Class (Year 6)
Mr Ross – Thompson Class (Year 6)

At the start of the year, each class explored the school literature spine and learned about the books they will read across the year. The children then took part in a class vote to determine the class names.
