About Our Music Curriculum

It is the intent of the curriculum to:

• appreciate a wide range of music through listening and participating
• sing and play simple instruments with rhythm musically
• begin to compose using knowledge of instruments, notation and rhythm
• rehearse and perform

At The Colman Schools, music is taught weekly following the CUSP Music Curriculum, creating the opportunity to practise skills. Children will also be exposed to music opportunities beyond the classroom and will sing regularly as a whole school during assemblies.
